A Haiku is a Japanese poem that contains three lines that are unrhymed. The first line contains 5 syllables, the second line contains 7 syllables, and the third line contains 5 syllables. Or if you prefer, 5-7-5. There are no strict rules concerning the subject matter of a Haiku, however, they tend to deal with nature. Here is an example:
Water is alive
Touching all things it passes
Like caressing hands
